DCT450 MPS6 6-Speed Powershift Internal Filter – Ford & Volvo
This internal filter is designed for the Ford PowerShift 6DCT450 (MPS6) 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, fitted to a wide range of Ford and Volvo models. Located inside the transmission, it filters contaminants from the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) that circulates through the valve body and clutch packs. Replacing the internal filter during a service or rebuild is essential to protect the valve body solenoids and maintain correct ATF pressure.
Fits transmission: 6DCT450 / MPS6 PowerShift 6-speed dual-clutch

When should the PowerShift internal filter be replaced?
The internal filter should be replaced every time the transmission fluid is changed – typically at 40,000-mile intervals or when performing a full DCT450 rebuild. Using a blocked or degraded filter risks valve body damage.
Will replacing the filter fix my PowerShift gearbox problems?
On its own, a new filter may not fix severe shudder or slipping. However, combined with a full ATF fluid change, it is the recommended first step before any more costly repairs. Many PowerShift issues are caused by contaminated fluid.
Does this filter fit both the dry and wet clutch versions of the PowerShift?
The 6DCT450 (MPS6) is a wet dual-clutch gearbox. Confirm your gearbox code before ordering – do not confuse it with the DPS6 dry-clutch unit used in smaller Ford models.
Is this a genuine Ford part?
This is an aftermarket replacement filter, manufactured to OE dimensions. The genuine Ford part cross-reference number is 2245798.
