The AWD filter and Haldex oil are an often overlooked service requirement for four-wheel-drive systems. Neglecting this service causes failure of the pump and in some cases the complete Haldex unit. The filter captures particles including metal fragments from the Haldex system and prevents them entering delicate components like the pump.

We recommend a Haldex oil and filter change every 20,000 miles. On vehicles with an unknown service history, change the filter immediately to protect the pump.

Do I need to replace the oil at the same time?

Yes. The oil and filter should always be changed together. Old Haldex oil carries metal particles that will contaminate a new filter rapidly if not drained and replaced.

What is the difference between DS120359 and the pump kit DS108295?

DS120359 is the filter service kit (this product); DS108295 (ET2267) is the pump itself. The filter service is a routine maintenance item; the pump is replaced when it fails.

Does 02D525558 and 02D525558A refer to the same part?

These are successive VAG part numbers that supersede each other. DS120359 covers the complete application for Generation 1 filter service.

Can I carry out the filter service at home?
