How often should the Haldex filter be changed?

BorgWarner and most vehicle manufacturers recommend changing the Haldex oil and filter every 30,000–40,000 miles or every 2–3 years, whichever comes first. Higher-mileage or hard-use vehicles should be serviced more frequently.

What happens if you don't service the Haldex system?

Old oil loses its friction-modifier properties and becomes contaminated with wear particles. Over time this blocks the filter, starves the pump, and accelerates clutch pack wear — ultimately leading to loss of AWD function and very expensive repairs.

Is this kit compatible with Haldex Gen 3?

No. This kit is specifically for Haldex Generation 4. Gen 3 and Gen 5 systems use different filter designs. If you are unsure which generation your vehicle has, contact us with your registration number.

What oil should I use with this filter kit?
