Loss of AWD engagement, AWD or 4WD warning lights, and a Haldex fault code stored in the gearbox or ABS module are the typical signs. In some cases the pump may be noisy under load before it fails completely.

Is this the same pump as the DS120359 filter kit?

No. DS120359 is the Generation 1 filter service kit (see ET2261). DS108295 is the Gen 1 pump itself, which is a separate component requiring replacement when the pump fails.

Can I replace the Haldex pump without replacing the oil and filter?

We recommend replacing the Haldex oil and filter at the same time as the pump. Contaminated oil is often a contributing cause of pump failure and will reduce the life of the new pump if not flushed.

What tools are needed to fit the Haldex pump?

Access to the Haldex unit from underneath the vehicle is required, along with standard workshop tools. A Haldex pump removal and installation tool is advisable for correct seating.
