DSG 02E Mechatronic Cover Plate 02E325201D – Audi SEAT Skoda VW

Replacement front cover plate for the 6-speed DSG 02E (DQ250) gearbox. Part number 02E325201D. This plate closes the front mechatronic housing and is a common replacement part during 02E overhaul. It is recommended to replace the gasket at the same time (sold separately — see ET2328 equivalent). Fits Audi, SEAT, Skoda and VW models with the 02E DSG gearbox.

What is the 02E DQ250 DSG?

The 02E (also known as DQ250) is Volkswagen Group's 6-speed wet dual-clutch transmission used in transverse-engined front-wheel-drive and 4Motion quattro models. It is one of the most common DSG gearboxes in the VW Group range, fitted to Golf, Passat, A3, Leon and many other models from 2003 onwards.

What does the mechatronic cover plate do?

The mechatronic cover plate seals the front of the mechatronic housing, protecting the solenoids, sensors and hydraulic channels inside. It must form a leak-free seal with the gasket to maintain correct hydraulic pressure in the valve body and prevent oil contamination of electrical components.

Why should I replace the gasket at the same time?

The gasket between the cover plate and the gearbox housing is a single-use sealing element. Once disturbed, it should always be replaced. Reusing an old gasket risks an immediate or early re-leak, requiring the repair to be repeated.

Are there different versions of the 02E cover plate?

There may be production variants across different gearbox build dates. For fitment confirmation, please provide your vehicle registration or the gearbox serial number (stamped on the casing) and we will confirm suitability.

Can a mechatronic oil leak cause DSG fault codes?

Yes. Oil escaping from the mechatronic housing can contaminate external wiring connectors and cause DSG fault codes including mechatronic adaptation errors, solenoid faults, and gear selection problems. Always address oil leaks promptly.
