The DS108190 is the BorgWarner Generation 1 oil filter service kit for the Volvo S60 AWD Haldex hydraulic coupling. The AWD filter and Haldex oil are an often overlooked service requirement for the four-wheel-drive system. Neglecting this service causes failure of the pump and in some cases the complete Haldex unit.
The filter captures particles including metal fragments from the Haldex system, preventing them from reaching delicate components such as the Haldex pump.
