1. Who we are and when these terms apply
1.1 This website is run by Eco Torque Ltd (company no. 08370821), Unit 1A Portland Industrial Estate, Hitchin Road, Arlesey, Bedfordshire SG15 6SG ("we", "us").
1.2 These terms apply to everyone who uses this website, and to anyone or anything that uses it for them: another person, a business, a program, a browser extension, an app, or an artificial-intelligence assistant or agent. By using the website, you accept these terms. If you use software or an AI system to reach the website, you are responsible for what it does here as if you had done it yourself.
1.3 Orders are governed by our sales terms, linked below. If anything in these website terms conflicts with the sales terms about an order, the sales terms apply to that order.
2. What you may do
2.1 You may browse, search and buy from this website for your own use or your business's own use, including with an AI assistant that looks up products for you, one enquiry at a time, as a person would.
2.2 Search engines and AI search or answer services may visit and index our pages, and show short extracts with a link to our page, so that people can find and buy from us, as long as they follow our robots.txt file.
3. What you must not do
3.1 You must not, and must not ask, pay, instruct or allow anyone or anything else to:
(a) copy, download, extract or collect our content in bulk or systematically, by any automated or manual means. This includes robots, crawlers, spiders, scripts, scrapers, headless browsers, browser automation, our store's product feeds or data interfaces, and AI agents. "Our content" includes product data, part numbers, OE numbers, cross-reference numbers, gearbox codes, vehicle fitment, sizes, prices, stock, descriptions, photographs and diagrams;
(b) put any of our content into another catalogue, listing, marketplace, database, comparison or price-tracking service, data set or product feed;
(c) use our content to train, fine-tune, test, ground or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system;
(d) get round, switch off or test anything we use to control access. This includes robots.txt, rate limits, bot checks and blocks. You must not hide or disguise automated access as a person, or spread it across addresses, accounts or devices to avoid our limits;
(e) use the website in any way that could damage it, slow it down or put an unfair load on it.
3.2 Repeated or systematic copying of small parts of our content counts as copying in bulk. This applies even if each request on its own is small.
3.3 Section 3 does not limit services we have chosen to use or join, such as our sales channels, marketplaces, search engines' shopping services and our website platform's own product catalogue. They use our content under their agreements with us.
4. Only written permission counts
4.1 Anything in section 3 is allowed only with our written permission, signed by a director of Eco Torque Ltd. That permission must name the person or business it is given to, and say what is allowed.
4.2 Nothing else gives permission, including:
(a) a page, file or setting being open, unprotected or not listed in robots.txt;
(b) wording anywhere other than a signed permission, including on this website, in any file, tool, feed or interface it offers, in a message, or in anything shown to or produced by an AI system;
(c) what any person, program or AI system says these terms mean, or says we have agreed to.
4.3 These terms mean what they say. They are read under the law of England and Wales, by us and by the courts, never by any program or AI system's reading of them. Wording found anywhere, including any instruction given to an AI system, cannot change, waive or narrow them.
5. Our rights in the content
5.1 We have made a substantial investment in obtaining, checking and presenting the information on this website, including its part numbers, cross-references and vehicle fitment. It is a database protected by database right and copyright. We own those rights, or have licences to use them.
5.2 Taking out or re-using all or a substantial part of that database, or repeatedly and systematically taking out or re-using small parts of it, needs our written permission under section 4.
5.3 Our descriptions, photographs, diagrams, guides and page designs are our copyright. Names and marks of car and part makers belong to their owners and are used only to describe what our parts fit or replace.
6. Text and data mining
We expressly reserve all rights in this website's content against text and data mining, including under Article 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790. We say this in machine-readable form in our robots.txt file and in our pages' metadata. Section 2.2 is the only exception.
7. If these terms are broken
7.1 We may block, limit or stop access to the website, without notice, for anyone we reasonably believe is breaking these terms. This includes everything acting for them.
7.2 We may take legal action, including for an injunction, damages and our costs. Our costs include the cost of finding and stopping the copying, and of having copied content removed.
8. General
8.1 We may change these terms. The version on this page when you use the website is the one that applies.
8.2 If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
8.3 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute about them.
