A genuine Vauxhall / Opel updated endcase shim for the M32 GEN 2 gearbox, used to set correct mainshaft end-float during a gearbox rebuild or end-case upgrade. This shim is part number 24461949 with a nominal thickness of 1.05mm and is required when fitting the larger updated end casing on M32 GEN 2 units.

What is the difference between the 1.05mm and 1.25mm M32 endcase shim?

The 1.05mm (24461949) and 1.25mm (24461953) shims differ only in thickness. The correct thickness depends on the measured mainshaft end-float in your specific gearbox — it cannot be chosen without measuring. Both thicknesses are available from Eco Torque.

How do I know which thickness shim I need?

The correct shim thickness can only be determined by measuring during the gearbox rebuild using a dial gauge and feeler gauges. We are unable to advise on the required thickness without the measured data from your specific gearbox.

Will this fit the first-generation M32 gearbox with the smaller end casing?

No — this shim is for the M32 GEN 2 (updated, larger end casing) only. The first-generation M32 has a smaller end casing and uses a different shim specification. If you are unsure which generation you have, send us a photo of the end casing or your VIN.
