Genuine M32 Gearbox Updated Endcase Shim – Upper and Lower Mainshaft 0.80 mm (24461944)
A genuine 0.80 mm mainshaft shim (part number 24461944) for the updated M32 Gen 2 end-case upgrade. This is one of the thinner shim sizes in the M32 range, used when the rebuild measurement indicates a smaller mainshaft endplay correction is required. Fits positions 31 and 56 on the M32 exploded diagram.
Fits transmission: M32 Gen 2 (updated endcasing) — does NOT fit the first-generation M32 with the original smaller endcasing
OE part number: 24461944
Dimensions: 0.80 mm thickness
Material: Metal
Fitment location: Positions 31 and 56 on the M32 gearbox diagram (upper and lower mainshaft end-case shim positions)
Note: Shim thickness is determined during the gearbox rebuild measurement process and cannot be pre-selected. Please measure before ordering. This part should only be fitted by an experienced transmission technician.
Is the 0.80 mm shim one of the thinner sizes in the M32 range?
Yes — the M32 shim range covers several thicknesses from approximately 0.8 mm upwards. The 0.80 mm shim is required when the measured endplay calls for a smaller correction. Always measure before selecting a shim thickness.
What happens if I use a shim that is too thin for my M32?
Excessive mainshaft endplay results in bearing fretting, noise (a clunking or knocking sensation during gear changes), and accelerated wear of both the bearings and gear face surfaces. The correct shim must be used to set the specified mainshaft preload.
Where is the shim positioned in the M32 gearbox?
The mainshaft shim sits between the mainshaft bearing and the updated endcase housing at positions 31 (upper) and 56 (lower) on the M32 exploded parts diagram. Both positions typically use shims of the same thickness.
Can I use M32 shims from another gearbox brand or application?
No — use only the specified OEM-numbered shims for the M32 updated endcase. Aftermarket or non-specified shims may have dimensional variations that affect the final preload setting.
Does Eco Torque stock M32 shims in bulk for workshops?
Yes — trade and workshop customers can contact us for volume pricing on M32 shims across all thicknesses. We also offer the full M32 endcase upgrade kit for workshops that prefer a complete solution.
