0AM DQ200 DSG 7-Speed 3rd Gear Repair Kit – GTI Models Only

OE 3rd gear repair kit for the 0AM DQ200 7-speed DSG gearbox, specifically for GTI-specification applications. This kit uses the GTI-specification synchro rings (0AM311247J and 0AM311277D) which differ from the standard models. Buyers must count the teeth on their existing 3rd gear before ordering — there are no internal diagrams or gear references to identify tooth count externally.

How do I identify a GTI DQ200 gearbox?

GTI models use heavier-duty synchro rings on the 3rd gear position. If your vehicle is a VW Golf GTI or Audi S3 with a 7-speed DSG, this is the correct kit. Standard Golf models use different synchro rings — see ET3752 (49T) and ET3753 (47T) for the individual gear options.

Why do I need to count gear teeth?

The 0AM DQ200 was built with 3rd gear in either 49-tooth or 47-tooth form depending on the specific variant. There are no external markings, so the gear must be counted physically with the gearbox open.

What causes 3rd gear failure on the DQ200?

Third gear is a known weak point on the 0AM DQ200, particularly under high torque. Symptoms include a crunch or difficulty engaging 3rd, grinding noise during shift, and gear jump-out. Early repair prevents damage to the selector fork and hub.

Is this kit compatible with the standard DQ200 (non-GTI)?

No. The GTI synchro rings in this kit are not interchangeable with the standard rings. For standard models, use the individual gear kits ET3752 (49T) or ET3753 (47T) instead.

Do I need specialist tooling to fit this kit?

Yes. DQ200 3rd gear replacement requires the gearbox to be removed and the shift forks to be carefully aligned. Professional DSG workshop fitting is recommended.
