The Haldex pump provides the oil pressure to operate the all-wheel-drive system assembly and engages the coupling to send power to the rear wheels. This part is prone to failure on higher mileage cars or if regular maintenance in not performed.

When Haldex pumps fail you may experience loss of power to the rear wheels,
reduced traction and grip. Replacing the hydraulic pump can restore your AWD
system allowing you to fully utilise the vehicles capabilities again.

What does the Haldex pump do?

The Haldex pump generates hydraulic pressure to engage the rear-axle coupling on AWD vehicles, transferring drive to the rear wheels when front-wheel slip is detected. Without a functioning pump, the AWD system is fully disabled.

How do I know if my Haldex pump has failed?

Common signs include loss of rear-wheel traction, AWD warning lights on the dashboard, and diagnostic fault codes related to Haldex oil pressure (e.g. P16668, P16670, P16671). A blocked filter gauze is also a frequent cause.

How often should the Haldex oil be changed?

Haldex oil should be changed every 20,000 miles. Neglecting the oil service is the leading cause of premature Haldex pump failure.

Is this a genuine part?

Yes. This kit uses a BorgWarner or S-Tec branded pump — both are genuine OE Haldex suppliers. You may receive either brand depending on stock; quality and specification are identical.

Can I reuse the original screws?

We recommend fitting the new screws supplied with the kit. Original fasteners may have stretched or corroded, and reuse risks oil leaks at the pump mounting face.
