What is the M32 Gen 3 gearbox and how is it different?

GM revised the M32 gearbox in approximately 2016 to address known weaknesses in earlier versions. The Gen 3 uses redesigned gears with different tooth counts on some ratios, including second gear (41T vs 42T in some earlier variants). Gen 3 gear wheels are NOT interchangeable with Gen 1 or Gen 2.
