A large part of our range is held by our supplier in Germany rather than on our own shelves. We order these in for you as soon as you place the order. Nothing ships to you direct from Germany — it comes to our Arlesey workshop first, so you deal only with us for returns and warranty.

NSK 62/28NR C3 Deep Groove Ball Bearing – 28x58x16mm

The NSK 62/28NR C3 is a deep groove ball bearing with a snap-ring groove (NR suffix) on the outer ring, measuring 28x58x16mm. The C3 internal clearance specification provides extra clearance versus standard C0, making it suitable for applications with interference fits or elevated operating temperatures. Manufactured by NSK in Japan to OEM specification.

What does the NR suffix mean on this NSK bearing?

NR indicates the outer ring has a machined circumferential groove for a snap ring (circlip) retainer. This allows the bearing to be axially located in its housing without a separate shoulder or locking nut, simplifying assembly and reducing cost.

What does C3 clearance mean?

C3 denotes greater than normal internal radial clearance. This is specified for bearings that will be installed with an interference fit (which reduces clearance in service) or in applications with higher operating temperatures, to ensure the bearing does not run pre-loaded and overheat.

Is this bearing suitable for gearbox use?

If the snap ring is undamaged and retains its spring tension, it can generally be reused. However, on high-mileage units we recommend fitting a new snap ring to ensure secure retention of the bearing outer race.
