VW Transporter T5 / Caravelle Drive Shaft Connecting Stub Axle – Off Side
This drive shaft connecting stub axle (off/right side) is a direct replacement for Volkswagen Transporter T5 and Caravelle/Multivan models with manual gearboxes from 2003 to 2015. The stub axle connects the gearbox output to the driveshaft — a worn or damaged stub axle can cause vibration, play in the drivetrain, or complete loss of drive to that wheel.

What is a stub axle and what does it do?
The stub axle (or drive shaft stub) connects the gearbox differential output shaft to the constant velocity (CV) drive shaft. It acts as an intermediate adapter between the gearbox and driveshaft assembly.
How do I confirm this is the right side for my vehicle?
This is the off side (right side when seated in the driver's seat in a right-hand-drive vehicle, i.e. the nearside in a left-hand-drive). Please confirm your vehicle's side before ordering.
Does this fit both petrol and diesel T5 variants?
Yes — fitment is determined by the gearbox type and year range, not the engine. All listed engine variants share the same stub axle.
Can this be fitted to automatic T5 Transporters?
No — this part is for manual gearbox variants only. Automatic T5 models use a different drive output configuration.
What are the signs of a failing stub axle?
Clunking or clicking when turning or accelerating, vibration at certain speeds, or visible wear/damage at the gearbox output are common symptoms.
