Corteco Crankshaft Oil Seal 20032405B – 78x100x9mm (Transmission End)
The Corteco 20032405B is a crankshaft oil seal for the transmission end of the engine. Constructed from PTFE/ACM composite material with a left-hand twist swirl and dust lip, it delivers superior oil retention and durability. A failed transmission-end crankshaft seal allows oil to contaminate the clutch or transmission bellhousing, causing clutch slip and potential gearbox damage.

What is the difference between a timing-end and transmission-end crankshaft seal?
The timing-end seal is at the front of the crankshaft (behind the timing belt/chain pulley), while the transmission-end seal is at the rear (facing the gearbox). Both prevent oil from escaping the engine, but they differ in size and location.
What symptoms indicate a leaking rear crankshaft seal?
Oil staining or weeping from the rear of the engine block / bellhousing area, oil contaminating the clutch plate (causing slip or judder), or visible oil trails behind the engine.
Is PTFE/ACM better than standard rubber seals?
PTFE/ACM composite seals offer higher temperature resistance and longer service life compared to standard nitrile seals, making them well-suited to modern engines with tighter thermal margins.
Does this seal require a special installation tool?
