About SMART TWINAMIC DCT
Smart use a version of the 6DCT250 Getrag dual clutch transmission referred too as the Twinamic gearbox.
This design of dual clutch gearbox uses a dry LUK clutch system.
As Smart only produce small vehicles the dry clutch 6DCT250 systems are the only versions in operation.
The Twinamic transmission sees an improvement on previous semi automatic models, however with numerous teething issues causing reliability flaws, it is a transmission we see regularly at Eco Torque's workshop.
