What is Millers XF Premium MTF 75w used for?

This fluid is designed for manual gearboxes specifying a 75w viscosity, including many BMW, VAG, Ford and PSA applications. It is also suitable for some transfer cases and transaxles. The fully synthetic formulation provides improved cold-start flow and excellent protection across a wide temperature range.

What are the symptoms of degraded manual gearbox oil?

Common symptoms include stiff or notchy gear selection, difficulty engaging gears when cold, grinding or crunching during gear changes, and whining or rumbling noises from the gearbox. Regular oil changes prevent premature synchroniser and bearing wear.

How often should I change my manual gearbox oil?

Most manufacturers recommend a manual gearbox oil change every 40,000 to 60,000 miles. In higher-stress applications such as towing, performance driving or hybrid operation, more frequent changes are advisable.

Is this fluid suitable for hybrid vehicle gearboxes?

Yes. The MTF 75w is specifically developed to be compatible with HEV and PHEV drivetrain systems, where the electrical components place additional demands on the gear oil’s electrical insulation and thermal stability.

How much gear oil does my manual gearbox hold?
