About the Genuine & OEM Parts

Genuine and OEM transmission parts — the top quality tier of our range, across every gearbox family we cover.

Genuine means the part carries the vehicle manufacturer's own branding and part number. OEM means it is made by the company that supplied the manufacturer's production line — the same factory and specification, without the carmaker's badge or markup. Both fit and perform identically to what left the factory; the difference is the box it arrives in and the price on it.

This spans DSG and S tronic, dual clutch, manual, automatic, differential and Haldex parts. If you would rather weigh up cost against specification, our aftermarket range covers most of the same applications at a lower price, and we are happy to talk through which makes sense for the job.

Not sure which you need? Send us your registration and gearbox code and we will confirm what fits and what the genuine, OEM and aftermarket options are.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a genuine part and an OEM part? +
A genuine part carries the vehicle manufacturer's own branding and part number and is bought through their dealer network. An OEM part is made by the company that supplied that component to the production line — the same factory, the same specification — but sold under its own brand without the carmaker's packaging or markup.
Are OEM parts as good as genuine ones? +
In most cases they are the same component in different packaging. The exceptions are parts where the manufacturer has issued a revision under their own part number, or where fitting requires coding to the vehicle. We flag those before you order rather than after.
When should I insist on the genuine part? +
Where a component has to be coded or adapted to the vehicle — some mechatronic units and control modules — and where the manufacturer has superseded the original part to fix a known fault. Send us your registration and gearbox code and we will tell you which applies.
Can you supply the aftermarket equivalent instead? +
Usually yes, and often at a significant saving. Our aftermarket range covers most of the same applications. Contact us with your gearbox code and we will quote both so you can compare.
Do these parts come with a warranty? +
Yes. All parts we supply carry a warranty, and the details are listed on each product page. Remanufactured and new mechatronic units carry extended terms.
