What is the difference between ATF MV and ATF MV-EXTRA?
ATF MV-EXTRA is an extended-range multi-vehicle fluid with broader OEM specification coverage than the standard ATF MV. It covers additional specifications, including applications where a Dexron III, Mercon V or equivalent fluid is required, as well as compatibility with certain power steering systems.
What are the signs that my automatic gearbox fluid needs replacing?
Signs include harsh or delayed gear shifts, a burning smell, a slipping sensation when the gearbox changes gear, and dark or discoloured fluid on the dipstick. Changing the fluid at the correct interval prevents these symptoms from developing into serious transmission damage.
Can ATF MV-EXTRA be used in power steering systems?
Yes. ATF MV-EXTRA is compatible with many hydraulic power steering systems that specify ATF or Dexron III. Always check your vehicle’s owner’s manual or contact us for confirmation before use.
How often should I change my automatic transmission fluid?
Most manufacturers recommend an ATF change every 40,000 to 60,000 miles. Some specify ‘lifetime fill’ which in practice means until a problem occurs; a preventative change every 40,000 miles is strongly recommended to protect the gearbox.
How much ATF does my gearbox hold?
Capacity varies by gearbox model, typically between 4 and 9 litres for a full drain and refill. Contact us with your vehicle registration for the correct fill quantity and service procedure for your specific vehicle.
Why Choose Eco Torque?
