Febi Bilstein 75W-85 GL-5 axle drive gear oil (part 48785) is a high-performance, low-viscosity lubricant engineered for differentials, manual gearboxes and axle drive assemblies. Its advanced base-oil matrix with shear-loss resistance protects against wear, corrosion and silt build-up, extending the service life of drivetrain components. Suitable for applications specifying API GL-5, including ZF, MB and VW specifications.

What is 75W-85 GL-5 gear oil used for?

75W-85 GL-5 is used in differentials, rear-axle drives and some manual gearboxes where a low-viscosity, high-pressure lubricant is required. The GL-5 rating indicates extreme-pressure additive performance for hypoid gears.

How often should axle drive oil be changed?

Interval varies by vehicle and application — typically every 60,000–100,000 km or per the vehicle manufacturer's schedule. Always follow the OEM recommendation.

Is this oil compatible with my ZF differential?

This oil meets ZF TE-ML 18 specification. Check your ZF unit's service requirement against the approvals list above to confirm compatibility.

Can 75W-85 replace 75W-90 in my gearbox?
