MPS6 DCT451 Powershift Gen 2 Clutch – DS7R-7P087-AE

Genuine replacement clutch pack for the MPS6 6DCT451 Generation 2 Powershift gearbox. This is the correct clutch for the second-generation Powershift unit found in later Ford and Volvo models, identified by the DCT451 code. Fitment locations are marked with an orange dot.

How do I tell if I have a Generation 1 or Generation 2 Powershift?

Generation 1 is the DCT450/MPS6 (earlier models, approximately 2008–2011). Generation 2 is the DCT451 (later models, from approximately 2012 onwards). The gearbox code and vehicle build date are the most reliable indicators. Send us your VIN if unsure.

What are the symptoms of a failing Powershift Gen 2 clutch?

Typical symptoms include vibration or shudder when pulling away, hesitation when changing direction, sudden loss of drive, and Powershift-related fault codes. A gearbox specialist scan is recommended before replacing the clutch.

Is this a genuine OE clutch?

This is a genuine OE-specification clutch pack for the DCT451 unit, supplied to the same standard as factory fitment.

Do I need to reprogram the gearbox after fitting?

Yes. Following clutch replacement on the MPS6 Powershift, a mechatronic adaptation and clutch learn procedure must be carried out using Ford-compatible diagnostic equipment. This cannot be skipped.

Can I fit the Gen 2 clutch in a Gen 1 Powershift housing?

No. The DCT450 and DCT451 clutch packs are not interchangeable. Always confirm your gearbox generation before ordering.
