BMW Haldex

BMW's transverse front-wheel-drive platform uses a Haldex Gen 5 coupling to drive the rear axle on xDrive models — the same unit found under the Mini ALL4 range, which shares the platform. Eco Torque stocks the Gen 5 hydraulic pump and repair kit 33108663457 / 8663457 in Genuine Haldex (S-TEC) and BorgWarner, supplied on its own or with the correct Haldex oil.

The symptoms are the same as on any Haldex: an xDrive warning light, a stored pressure fault and drive that no longer reaches the rear axle. On Gen 5 the filter is part of the pump assembly, so the service is a pump kit and an oil change rather than a separate filter.
