About the 156

The Alfa Romeo 156 (Type 932) is a compact executive saloon and Sportwagon estate – the multi-award-winning Alfa built from 1997 to 2005. For its manual transmission, Eco Torque stocks a strong M32 six-speed gearbox range: synchromesh hubs and rings, gears and shafts, bearings, bearing & seal rebuild kits, uprated end cases and housings, differentials, seals and shims, plus Selespeed actuator fluid for the automated-manual cars.

The Alfa Romeo 156's 1.9 16v JTDM diesels used the Fiat/GM M32 six-speed manual gearbox; other engines ran five- and six-speed manuals, with Alfa's Selespeed automated manual offered on many cars. Tell us your engine and we'll match the right parts. Not sure which parts you need? Send us your registration or VIN and we'll help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What gearbox and transmission parts do you stock for this vehicle? +
We stock a comprehensive range of manual gearbox, DSG, DCT and automatic transmission parts including clutch kits, flywheel modules, bearings, synchro rings, seals, rebuild kits and gearbox oil. Browse the full range above or filter by gearbox type.
How do I identify my gearbox type? +
Your gearbox code is stamped on the gearbox casing — typically 2 to 3 letters on VAG vehicles or a number and letter code on others. You can also check your vehicle service documents, use a VIN lookup, or contact our team with your registration for help identifying the correct code.
Do you stock both manual and automatic transmission parts? +
Yes — depending on the model we stock parts for manual gearboxes, DSG dual-clutch units, and traditional automatic transmissions. Use the filters above or browse by gearbox code to find parts for your specific unit.
How do I know the parts are compatible with my exact model? +
We recommend confirming your gearbox code before ordering, as parts can vary between production years and engine variants even within the same model range. Our team is happy to cross-reference your gearbox code and confirm compatibility.
How long does delivery take? +
Most in-stock items are dispatched next working day from our UK facility. Next-day delivery is available on qualifying orders placed before our daily cut-off. Some specialist or sourced-to-order items may have longer lead times — check individual product listings for details.
Do the parts come with a warranty? +
Yes — all parts come with a standard warranty. Clutch kits and flywheel modules typically carry a manufacturer warranty. Full details are on each product listing.
Can I search by my registration number? +
You can provide your registration number to our team and we will help match the correct gearbox code and parts for your vehicle. Use the contact page or give us a call.
Do you offer technical support? +
Yes — our team specialises in transmissions and can advise on part selection, compatibility, and fitment. Contact us by phone or email and we will be happy to help.
