Genuine M32 Gearbox Updated Endcase Shim – Upper and Lower Mainshaft 1.35 mm (24461955)

A genuine 1.35 mm mainshaft shim (part number 24461955) for the updated M32 Gen 2 endcase upgrade. This shim sets the correct mainshaft preload at positions 31 and 56 when fitting the upgraded endcasing. The required shim thickness is determined during the rebuild measurement process — not before.

Fits transmission: M32 Gen 2 (updated endcasing) — does NOT fit the first-generation M32 with the original smaller endcasing

OE part number: 24461955

Dimensions: 1.35 mm thickness

Material: Metal

Fitment location: Positions 31 and 56 on the M32 gearbox diagram (upper and lower mainshaft end-case shim positions)

Note: Shim thickness is determined during the gearbox rebuild measurement process and cannot be pre-selected. Please measure before ordering. This part should only be fitted by an experienced transmission technician.

Is this 1.35 mm shim a common size for M32 rebuilds?

The M32 shim measurement falls across a range of thicknesses depending on the individual gearbox's tolerances. The 1.35 mm is one of the sizes frequently required — but only a direct measurement during the rebuild will confirm whether this is the correct size for your application.

What tools do I need to measure the correct M32 shim thickness?

You will need a dial gauge (DTI) with magnetic base, the correct M32 endcase measuring tool, and a torque wrench calibrated to the required endcase bolt specification. The measurement procedure is documented in the M32 workshop manual.

Can an incorrect shim damage the M32 gearbox?

Yes — a shim that is too thick will create excessive bearing preload, leading to overheating and rapid bearing failure. A shim that is too thin will leave excessive endplay, causing noise, bearing fretting and eventual gear-change problems. Correct measurement is critical.

Does Eco Torque offer the full M32 endcase upgrade kit?

Yes — Eco Torque stocks the complete M32 updated endcase upgrade kit including the endcase housing, bearings, and shim assortment. Contact us if you need a full kit rather than individual shims.

How long does an M32 endcase upgrade take?

In a professional workshop, an M32 endcase upgrade typically takes 6–8 hours including removal, rebuild, shim measurement and refitting. It requires the gearbox to be removed from the vehicle.

Why Choose Eco Torque?

As specialists in gearbox rebuilds and repairs, Eco Torque takes pride in offering genuine gearbox parts, high-quality aftermarket alternatives and competitive pricing.
