Genuine M32 Gearbox Updated Endcase Shim – Upper and Lower Mainshaft 0.90 mm (24461946)

A genuine 0.90 mm mainshaft shim (part number 24461946) for the updated M32 Gen 2 end-case upgrade. This is one of the thinner shim sizes in the M32 range, used when the rebuild measurement indicates the specific thickness required. Fits positions 31 and 56 on the M32 exploded parts diagram.

Fits transmission: M32 Gen 2 (updated endcasing) — does NOT fit the first-generation M32 with the original smaller endcasing

OE part number: 24461946

Dimensions: 0.90 mm thickness

Material: Metal

Fitment location: Positions 31 and 56 on the M32 gearbox diagram (upper and lower mainshaft end-case shim positions)

Note: Shim thickness is determined during the gearbox rebuild measurement process and cannot be pre-selected. Please measure before ordering. This part should only be fitted by an experienced transmission technician.

Is the 0.90 mm shim between the thinner sizes in the M32 range?

Yes — the 0.90 mm sits near the lower end of the M32 shim range, between the 0.80 mm and 1.0 mm sizes. The precise thickness required for your rebuild must be confirmed by direct measurement during the rebuild process.

What is the tolerance on M32 mainshaft endplay?

The M32 endplay specification when using the updated endcasing is detailed in the Vauxhall/Opel M32 workshop manual. Typically, the target preload is 0–0.05 mm (light preload). The shim thickness must be selected to achieve this within the measured clearance of the individual gearbox.

Can I combine two thinner shims to achieve the required thickness?

No — the M32 endcase design requires a single shim of the correct thickness in each position. Do not stack shims, as this introduces dimensional error and can affect bearing load distribution.

What is the lead time for M32 shims?

M32 endcase shims are held in stock by Eco Torque across all standard thicknesses and are normally available for same or next-day despatch. Contact us if you need a specific size urgently and we will confirm stock availability.

Does Eco Torque offer advice on M32 shim selection?

We are happy to advise on the shim selection process, but we are unable to select a shim thickness without the measured endplay figure — that measurement must be taken in the workshop during the rebuild. Contact us with your measurement and we will supply the correct shim.

Why Choose Eco Torque?

As specialists in gearbox rebuilds and repairs, Eco Torque takes pride in offering genuine gearbox parts, high-quality aftermarket alternatives and competitive pricing.
